Moral Philosophy and Politics is interested in receiving submissions on any topic falling in the scope of the journal. We primarily publish original research papers (5.000-10.000 words) but also consider shorter discussion pieces.
We run many special issues, but we are interested in receiving submissions unrelated to any current call for papers as well.
Submissions need not conform to any particular formatting standard at the time of submission but they should be fully anonymised since we are using a double-blind refereeing process. That is, the author of the submission does not know who is refereeing the paper and the referee does not know who wrote the paper. The editor in charge of the paper knows the identity of both.
We typically have two referees per paper and the process takes six to twelve weeks.
If you are interested in running a special issue, just get in touch. Our guidelines are here.
A few papers every year will be published as open-access articles. These are selected by the editors. The De Gruyter Open Library scheme also offers authors the option of making their papers freely accessible. More Information on this scheme is available here.
De Gruyter also allows authors the use of the final published version of an article (publisher pdf) for self-archiving (author's personal website) and/or archiving in an institutional repository (on a non-profit server) after an embargo period of 12 months after publication. More information is available here.
Papers should be submitted via the ScholarOne website here: Submit.
You may submit your paper in any format. However, if and when your paper gets accepted, please follow these guidelines: Stylesheet.
